KSP: Hamas – Israel Conflict Need to End

Jakarta – Executive Office of the President (KSP) fully supported the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to constantly active and strategically make a permanent peace for Palestine. Senior Advisor of the Executive Staff of the President, Siti Ruhaini Dzuhayatin conveyed this statement in order to respond to the tensions between Hamas-Israel.

“Indonesia urges all the United Nations’ country members to immediately end the Palestine-Israel conflict and resolve the humanitarian crisis,” said Ruhaini in Jakarta, Sunday (8/10).

Ruhaini emphasized that Palestinian independence is part of Indonesia’s constitutional mandate, namely that independence is the right of all nations. Apart from it, Palestinian independence is also the mandate of the Non-Aligned Summit that was initiated by Indonesia in 1955 in Bandung.

For this reason, she added, Indonesia consistently encourages international diplomacy for Palestinian freedom, and strives to strengthen Palestinian capacity in the bureaucracy, economy and education cooperation.

Furthermore, Ruhaini explains that the Government of Indonesia through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs had encouraged Palestine and Israel to restrain and to seek peaceful ways to resolve conflict on both sides. The conflict resolution should engage the root of the problem, one of them is to comply with the UN Convention on a two-states solution in the contested area.

“Israel must comply with the UN convention by withdrawing the troops and stop the aggression in the occupied territories in Palestine,” said Ruhaini.

On that occasion, Ruhaini also added that the Executive Office of the President’s position is to condemn any conflict and violence between Israel and Hamas. “This conflict and violence must be stopped, it caused so many casualties, both death and injured,” Ruhaini concluded.
