The Chief of Staff to the President Encourages Cross-Sector Collaboration Through the Launch of SPPG in Yogyakarta

Sleman – The Chief of Staff to the President, Lt. Gen. TNI (Ret.) AM Putranto, the Minister of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions, Yandri Susanto, and the Head of the National Nutrition Agency, Dadan Hindayana, officially launched 14 Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) in the Special Region of Yogyakarta on Tuesday (May 20).

The event launching held at Tebing Breksi in Sleman represents a strategic collaboration between the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) and the Ministry of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions (Kemendes PDT) through the forum of Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) across the Special Region of Yogyakarta. The event aims to expand the reach of the Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG) – one of the Presidential Priority Human Transformation Campaigns (PHTC) initiated by President Prabowo Subianto.

In his speech, the Chief of Staff to the President emphasized the importance of cross-sector collaboration to accelerate the provision of good quality, nutritious food for the community.

“I hope this collaboration will inspire other ministries to establish supporting kitchens to provide nutritious meals for Indonesian people, in line with the President’s directives,” said AM Putranto.

Minister of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions Yandri Susanto stated that the launch of SPPG by the BUMDes Forum across Yogyakarta is expected to stimulate village economies, as BUMDes serves as the spearhead of rural economic development.

“Through these nutrition kitchens, the rural economies can move forward. All ingredients for the Free Nutritious Meal Program can be sourced locally from village communities instead of outside sources, creating a significant domino effect for the local population,” Yandri explained.

Yogyakarta and Sleman currently require 367 SPPG units, yet only 37 are operational—just about 10 percent of the need.

Executive Office of the President (KSP) remains committed to accelerating the establishment of SPPG units to ensure the program’s benefits are distributed evenly across the region. Acting Deputy V of the Executive Office of the Presiden, Maj. Gen. (Ret.) Harianto and a team of Expert Staff from Deputy V of the KSP were accompanying the Chief of Staff to The President at the event.
