Serbaraja Toll Road Section 1B to Bolster Connectivity in Jakarta-Tangerang Selatan Corridor

Tangerang Selatan – Supporting public mobility and enhance connectivity between Jakarta and the satellite city of Tangerang Selatan, the Executive Office of the President (KSP) is optimistic that the construction of the Serpong-Balaraja (Serbaraja) Toll Road Section 1B, which connects CBD-Legok, will be completed by September 2023.

“All parties have agreed to tighten the construction schedule. The target completion date has been advanced from December 2023 to September 2023,” said Helson Siagian, a Senior Advisor at KSP, during a Coordination Meeting to Accelerate the Construction of Serbaraja Toll Road, held in Tangerang Selatan on Thursday (8/6).

Helson stated that Serbaraja Toll Road Section 1B will complement the existing Section 1A (BSD-CBD), which was inaugurated earlier by President Joko Widodo on September 20, 2022. This will result in a total toll road length of 9.84 kilometers for Section 1. The government will then focus on expediting land acquisition and physical work for Sections 2 and 3.

Furthermore, Helson emphasized the importance of Serbaraja Toll Road as it serves as the initial segment of the Jakarta Outer Ring Road 3 (JORR-3) toll road network. Notably, this project is implemented under the Government and Business Entity Cooperation (KPBU) unsolicited scheme, initiated by PT Trans Bumi Serbaraja as the Toll Road Business Entity (BUJT).

“This is in line with the government’s commitment to allow the private sector to play a larger role in infrastructure development in Indonesia,” he said. Consequently, the project has been designated as a National Strategic Project (PSN).

During the same occasion, Paulus Wawan Koessoemarjanto, Director of PT Trans Bumi Serbaraja, explained that the 39.8-kilometer Serbaraja Toll Road consists of three sections: Section 1 BSD-Legok, Section 2 Legok-Pasir Barat, and Section 3 Pasir Barat-Balaraja.

The project’s investment value reaches Rp14.36 trillion. The toll road will be connected to the Tangerang-Merak Toll Road and the Kunciran-Serpong Toll Road. Administratively, it traverses the regions of Tangerang Selatan City and Tangerang Regency in Banten Province.

Meanwhile, Sudaryanto, Head of the Regional Office of the National Land Agency (BPN) in Banten Province, stated that the Ministry of ATR/BPN, along with the Ministry of Public Works and Regional Government, has facilitated land acquisition for the Serbaraja Toll Road. Currently, land procurement for Section 1 has reached 97.68 percent completion.
