Jepara – The Chief of Staff to the President has attended a rally, Sunday (19/6), hosted by the President Jokowi’s supporter group and he told them to focus on solving the national issues. He also asked the supporters to be patient ahead of the 2024 presidential election, as previously stated by the President himself.
“President Jokowi has advised us not to rush. _Ojo Kesusu_ [means, “no rush” in Javanese]. There are more important things for us to solve together. Let’s put the focus on solving the national issues,” said Moeldoko.
“In terms of politics, we’ll just have to wait for his direction on where this big boat of Jokowi volunteers will dock,” he added.
Moeldoko said the current government was still very much focusing on recovering from the economic downfalls after the pandemic hit the country more than 2 years ago. Yet, the challenge doubled as the world economy was shaken, once again, by the Russia-Ukraine war.
Commodity prices have been sky-rocketing and some countries have begun to restrain their food and energy exports.
“We must strengthen our national energy and food security. We must be able to plant anything. Whether it’s corn, cassava, or sorghum,” he said.
The 2013-2015 Indonesian Military commander also asked Jokowi’s supporters to fully oversee the government until it comes to its term in 2024. Not only has the government worked hard to battle the pandemic, President Jokowi has also consistently carried out several economic recovery programs as part of his national priority works.
Moeldoko went on to say, the government was also continuing its infrastructure development, providing incentive assistance for pandemic-affected communities, creating jobs, and preparing proper education to achieve superior, cultured, and characterized human resources.
“Let’s support President Jokowi’s vision of Golden Indonesia 2045. Without the backup from his supporters, this government would not be able to serve the people optimally,” he continued.
“More importantly, let’s maintain the sustainability of this development. For that all elements of the nation, including supporters, should be united,” said Moeldoko.
