Jakarta – The Chief of Staff to the President, Dr. Moeldoko said Indonesia has a great potential to build and strengthen cultural cooperation with South Korea as both countries have similarity in terms of cultural taste. Moreover in Indonesia, K-Wave has become the most admired by the younger generation.
“K-Wave is very welcome by the young generation in Indonesia, it means Indonesia and South Korea are already in-tune in terms of popular culture,” said Moeldoko in Bina Graha Building, Jakarta, Friday (15/9).
As before, during his working visit to South Korea (13-14/9), Moeldoko became the keynote speaker in the World Knowledge Forum (WKF) to state his idea about the development of agricultural technology in the Green Digital Economy Platform.
Moeldoko stated that cultural cooperation is one of the best ways to strengthen the bilateral cooperation between both countries for the past 50 years. This cultural diplomacy is now a two way communications that could strengthen the proxy of both countries. “It also could be a buffer connection for both countries,” he added.
Moeldoko hopes that in the future this cultural cooperation could be realized in various forms of cooperation, such as culinary industry, creative industry for example music, film and fashion, as well as educational exchange. “As it is currently done at Busan University of Foreign Studies, where they already established the Indonesia center,” he states.
Moeldoko assured that this cooperation between Indonesia and South Korea will produce a great impact on Indonesia, especially in the culinary and creative industry.
“We could see how South Korea could give a moral education through their drakor (korean drama). Might as well, I enjoy it,” said Moeldoko happily.
