About KSP

To provide assistance and support for the President and the Vice President in advancing the national priority programs, the Executive Office of the President (KSP) was established in 2015 by President Joko Widodo. The Office is also tasked with a number of strategic roles including monitoring and evaluating the President’s national priority programs, managing the President’s political communication, and providing recommendations on various issues to be included into comprehensive state policies.

The KSP was established under the Presidential Regulation No. 83/2019 and it is directly overseen by the President of the Republic of Indonesia. Some staff working at the office are Indonesian civil servants (ASN), while some others are employees with non-ASN status. 

Duties and Responsibilities

The Executive Office of the President (KSP) has the main task to provide the President and the Vice President with the assistance that they need in implementing the national priority program, conducting smooth political communication, and maintaining strategic state policies. In its monitoring task, KSP ensures that the implementation of the national priority programs adhere to the visions and the missions of the President. KSP also provides support in accelerating, monitoring, and evaluating the national priority programs and other strategic national issues. In addition, the Office is tasked to present recommendations for the state policies and to carry out debottlenecking efforts in order to solve problems that might hinder the implementation of the national priority programs.

KSP is also responsible to maintain the effective political communication and information dissemination including providing comprehensive data and analysis to further support the Executives in the public policy making process.

Other tasks of the Office include administrative functions that are needed to support the daily jobs of the President.

KSP Values

In carrying out the duties and responsibilities as mentioned above, the professional staff of the KSP must abide by the holistic values implemented by the Office. The holistic values comprise five rules which are intertwined and woven together as a unity. They are integrity, loyalty, collaborative attitude, professionalism, and a public-oriented mindset.

Organizational Structure

The Executive Office of the President (KSP) is helmed by a Chief of Staff. In conducting the official tasks, the Chief of Staff is assisted by five deputies, five special advisors, and a Head of Secretariat.

The following list are the Deputy Chiefs of Staff of the KSP:

  1. Deputy Chief of Staff for Infrastructure, Energy and Investment (Deputy I)
  2. Deputy Chief of Staff for Human Development (Deputy II)
  3. Deputy Chief of Staff for Economy (Deputy III)
  4. Deputy Chief of Staff for Information and Political Communication (Deputy IV)
  5. Deputy Chief of Staff for Politics, Law, Defense, Security and Human Rights (Deputy V)

The following list are the Special Advisors of the KSP:

  1. Special Advisor on Infrastructure Energy and Investment
  2. Special Advisor on Human Development
  3. Special Advisor on Economy
  4. Special Advisor on Information and Political Communication
  5. Special Advisor on Politics, Law, Defense, Security and Human Rights

Each deputy chief of staff is supported by Senior Advisors, Advisors, Assistant Advisors, and Technical and Administrative Assistants to conduct the daily tasks of the Office.

Meanwhile, the Head of Secretariat is responsible to maintain the administrative function of the KSP and to ensure the running of everyday’s duties at the Office.

Statement on Service Management Policy

The Executive Office of the President (KSP) is committed to provide the best public service by carefully implementing the Service Management Policy. The KSP vows to remain transparent in guaranteeing the effective service management system to meet the good organizational standard and public satisfaction in accordance with the ISO 20000-1:2018 standard.

Thus, to provide assurance regarding the proper implementation of each government policy, KSP will:

  1. Provide frameworks and service management systems to ensure the service quality meets the requirements and expectations from the public;
  2. Establish strong relationships with both internal and external users through a professional management system framework;
  3. Define goals, then frequently monitor and formally report the progress of the service management through annual management reviews;
  4. Monitor and enhance the service quality through effective service management systems;
  5. Ensure the service management activities are run in accordance with the organization’s needs and targets;
  6. Ascertain all personnel involved in the public service management to adhere to their roles and responsibilities, further encourage all personnel to enhance their work capacities effectively;
  7. Preserve and strengthen the quality of the service management by consistently monitor, report and evaluate the system to guarantee the continuous and sustainable improvement;
  8. Abide by the rules and regulations on service management system as stipulated by the ISO 20000-1:2018 standard.
